The goal for this project was to recreate a boss battle from one of my favourite childhood games, Kirby Super Star Ultra. The character in question is Marx, whom is one of Nintendo's more simplistically designed characters and therefore was a nice break from attempting realism.
The modelling and texturing for Marx was simple enough, using basic box modelling and sculpting and creating textures in blender then finessing them in Photoshop. I then rigged and rendered the model. After creating and rigging the model I slowly went about designing a realistic background of Marx's Boss Arena, but made sure it stayed more true to the original game than instead of referring to the remade version in Nintendo's Smash Bro's Ultimate. Using both modelling and creative layering of images I was able to create an interactive scene that could actually be animated. Eventually this culminated in me experimenting with Blender's Animation tools to recreate some of Marx's animations from the game.
